WELCOME

Dear readers, welcome to "SmartBuildings4You", the first issue of our OAS newsletter. This publication comes at a time when we are all being confronted daily with the negative effects of the COVID 19 pandemic. But it is not all bad news as we are also experiencing an unexpected rise in the number of new opportunities that the digitalisation of room and building automation is bringing in this crisis. Thanks to the standard solutions offered from the Niagara Framework® and our own individual Smart Building Solutions, we and our customers can continue to access all systems and programming online - without restriction and with trouble-free support. COVID-19 is letting us demonstrate how digitalization works for us and can also work for others!

Who are we and how we do support you as an OAS Niagara system integrator, building planner or building operator? We would like to introduce ourselves to you in this and the forthcoming newsletter issues!

Ralf Rostock and Michael Doll

JACE-8000 controller: On the safe side with AMEV attestation
image Niagara system integrators, system partners and building operators are on the safe side with OAS. As an authorized distributor and Niagara solution provider, OAS has the latest AMEV attestations and BACnet conformity certificates available for download. For the automation platform in the Niagara Framework®, the AMEV certificate confirms that the JACE-8000 controller meets the particular requirements of the public sector for independent building automation. In conjunction with the BTL certificate from the BACnet Testing Labs (BTL), the certificate also provides proof of BACnet conformity (ISO 16484-5). AMEV is the Working Group of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of State and Municipal Administrations at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community. Its attestations and BACnet recommendations are standard for many operators and specialist companies.

Kaiserslautern University of Technology: New Building Automation System
image

OAS provides digital and open building automation systems at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. The building management systems are gradually being renewed with Niagara Framework® technology. One of their clients is the Landesbetrieb Liegenschafts- und Baubetreuung (LBB), the real estate and construction service provider of state building construction in Rhineland-Palatinate. It places high demands on building automation through the Working Group for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of State and Municipal Administrations (AMEV). The AMEV has developed a recognised certification for BACnet-capable GA components that goes beyond the conformity requirements of the BACnet Testing Labs (BTL). Equipped with AMEV attestation and a BTL certificate, the OAS supplies the BACnet JACE-8000 controller as automation platform. As a Tridium distributor, the OAS is providing JACE-8000, the top seller from the modular Niagara program, to the PGA Gesellschaft für Prozess- und Gebäudeautomatisierungstechnik, which – with its twenty years of experience – provides system integration. In this way, the OAS, hand in hand with the PGA, is ensuring the Kaiserlautern university buildings and facilities are prepared for an open systems future.
